MULTI-ReUse wins sustainability award northwest 2020

Usually treated wastewater is being fed into the rivers but what if you could reuse it instead? The research project Multi-ReUse, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and coordinated by the IWW Water Center, has dealt with precisely this question in the past three years.

The process developed in Multi-Reuse was implemented in a pilot plant by our project partner OOWV (Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband) at the demo site of the sewage treatment plant in Nordenham (Lower Saxony). There is a specific need for water recycling for the supply of water-intensive industrial customers.

The OOWV has now been awarded the 10,000 Euro Sustainability Award Northwest for this project. IWW is happy about this success and also about the appreciative words of OOWV.

“We would like to take this as an occasion and once again thank all project participants and project partners for the great cooperation. Everyone, but above all the partners of the IWW, who have kept everything together and advanced through the sovereign management of the sketch, the application and the project.”

A great success that also serves a good cause. OOWV donates the prize money to various charitable institutions in the region.
